Rolls-Royce Arcadia is Like Heaven on Earth
Rolls-Royce Coachbuild, the British ultra-high luxury brand’s department in charge of catering to the unique tastes and desires of its customers, is back in the spotlight with the reveal of the third in a series of four Droptrail one-off models.
Following La Rose Noire and Amethyst, this one is called Arcadia after the idyllic place known as "heaven on Earth" in Greek mythology. That sounds to us like a pretty good choice for a name.

The car was designed with purity and subtle restraint in mind. It is inspired by the architecture and design of Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam, which happen to be the favourite regions of the secret customer who commissioned the Arcadia.
The unique shade of “timeless white” adorning most of the body is infused with aluminum and glass particles, creating a pearl-like effect that adds depth and “a level of intrigue upon further study.” Rolls-Royce says the customer was also very particular and involved in determining the intensity of the contrasting silver finish. The hood and retractable hard top, meanwhile, are painted in gloss black.
The painstaking efforts and attention to detail by the Coachbuild team at Rolls-Royce never cease to amaze. All that magnificent woodwork you see here required more than 8,000 hours, including testing.
Now, take a look at the custom clock embedded into the dashboard and featuring "the most complex Rolls-Royce clock face ever created." It has a guilloché pattern with 119 facets and hand-polished parts. The hour markers are each just 0.1mm thick. The clock took two years to develop and five months to assemble. Can you believe that?
The automaker has not shared technical specifications, but we highly suspect the Arcadia is powered by the twin-turbo 6.75-litre V12 producing either 563 hp or 591 hp. As for the price, only Rolls-Royce and its customer know the answer. Based on various sources, it could be anywhere between $30-40 million CAD.
There’s a chance the fourth and final Droptail one-off will be unveiled before the end of 2024, and we have no doubt it will be just as stunning. Stay tuned.
