Tire Brands With the Highest Satisfaction Score in 2024
J.D. Power’s 2024 Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Study released a couple of weeks ago shows that the satisfaction gap between electric vehicles and ICE-powered vehicles is widening.
Basically, EV owners have similar expectations of tire wear as do owners of conventional vehicles, but more and more of them are disappointed to find that their tires are wearing faster.

“The widening satisfaction gap between EVs and gas-powered vehicles highlight an opportunity for tire manufacturers and automakers to educate EV owners on the differences in performance,” says Ashley Edgar, senior director of benchmarking and alternative mobility at J.D. Power.
“Additionally, because of the inherit conflict of maximizing vehicle range and optimizing tire wear for EVs, tire manufacturers and automakers need to work together to overcome the challenge without completely sacrificing tire performance in other areas, especially as the EV market continues to increase.”
The Most Satisfying Tire Brands in 2024
The J.D. Power study was conducted from August through December 2023 and is based on responses from more than 31,000 owners of 2022 and 2023 model-year vehicles in the U.S. It measures tire owner satisfaction in four areas including ride quality, wear, traction/handling and tire appearance (in order of importance).
Once again Michelin is the big winner, taking the No. 1 spot in three of the four categories—passenger cars (ahead of Goodyear and Kumho), luxury cars (ahead of Goodyear and Continental) and performance cars (ahead of Pirelli and Goodyear).
As for SUVs and trucks, Falken leads all tire brands when it comes to owner satisfaction, beating BFGoodrich and Hankook. Michelin ranks fourth.
