2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB Offers Cheaper AWD Variant
The Mercedes-Benz EQB, the least expensive electric SUV in the German automaker’s lineup, is refreshed going into its sophomore year. The all-wheel-drive variant is back, though with reduced power and range. Why? Because now it qualifies for the federal EV rebate, too.
Instead of the EQB 350 4MATIC that we used to have (288 hp, 384 lb-ft, 356 km of range), Mercedes-Benz Canada will offer the EQB 300 4MATIC producing 225 hp and 288 lb-ft of torque in addition to delivering an estimated 340 km of range.

Similar to the EQB 250+ with front-wheel drive, which carries a base MSRP of $59,990, the EQB 300 4MATIC (priced from $64,990, plus various charges amounting to $4,835) is eligible to a $5,000 rebate from the Canadian government’s iZEV program, not to mention provincial incentives of up to $7,000.
Two Trim Levels
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300 will arrive in Canadian dealerships by the end of this spring. It comes standard with 18-inch wheels, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.25-inch touchscreen multimedia display, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, power liftgate and 8-way power driver and front passenger seats with 3-position memory. The presentation of the charging features within the MBUX infotainment system has been improved, and by activating online services in the Mercedes me app, the intelligent voice assistant becomes even more capable of dialogue and learning.
When it comes to driver assistance technologies, a new mono-multipurpose camera and a new backup camera enhance visibility and obstacle detection. What’s more, thanks to more powerful environment sensors, the parking systems can better support the driver when manoeuvring.
For an extra $2,500, the Exclusive trim adds a foot-activated liftgate, more MBUX features, Keyless-Go package and advanced Burmester surround sound system with Dolby Atmos technology. Don’t forget the optional third-row seats allowing the EQB to accommodate up to seven people.
Oh, and one last thing: in all EQB models, the battery has the same capacity of 70.5 kWh and the same maximum DC charging power of 100 kW, good enough to go from 10-80 percent charge in 32 minutes.
