Ford Mustang Gets 60th Anniversary Package Limited to 1,965 Units
On this day 60 years ago, the Ford Mustang made its global debut at the New York World’s Fair. The American pony car has become a living legend, and it’s no surprise that the new-for-2024 seventh generation is getting a limited-edition 60th Anniversary package.
"We took inspiration from the original Mustang and applied some of the most special design elements to the latest in this limited production run. Mustang’s design DNA has never been stronger or more enduring than this multi-generational tribute,” said Ford Enthusiast Vehicles general manager Matt Simpson.

The 60th Anniversary package is available exclusively on the Mustang GT Premium in both coupe and convertible body styles and with either a manual or automatic transmission. It can be specified in classic Wimbledon White, modern Race Red or Vapor Blue. The mirror caps are body-coloured with the first one and finished in Iconic Silver with the other two as a callback to chrome mirrors of old.
Up front, the new grille with a unique mesh design is a nod to the original Mustang made modern with silver-accented nostrils that are also functional air intakes for the 5.0-litre V8 under the hood. Smoked housings for the Mustang Nite Pony headlights help the nostrils stand out even more.
We obviously like the side graphics that are reminiscent of the original rocker panel stripes and can be optioned in either Iconic Silver or Vermillion Red. Ditto for the 20-inch Dark Gravity Gray wheels with bright machined details featuring a Vermillion Red stamped aluminum centre cap inspired by those on the 1965 Mustang. Rounding out the exterior are exclusive 60th Anniversary badges on the fenders and trunk lid.
As for the interior, which is available in either Space Gray, Carmine Red or Black Onyx, a serialized 60th Anniversary badge on the dashboard is the main highlight.
Oh, that’s right, we forgot to mention one important detail: production of the Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Package will be limited to only 1,965 units as a nod to the official first model year of the pony car. Some of those will cross the border up north, but Ford Canada wouldn't say just how many. Orders will open this summer with deliveries to follow in the fall. Pricing will be available closer to the on-sale date.
