2025 Audi A3 Gets Mid-Cycle Refresh, No Allstreet Model for Canada

Munich, Germany—The Audi A3 is getting a mid-cycle update for 2025, including a new Allstreet variant that will be sold in Europe but not in North America. Plans might change eventually, but for now, let’s focus on the little sedan as we know it.

Designers in Ingolstadt have revised the A3 inside and out starting with a slightly wider and flatter grille. In the rear, the diffuser is inspired by Audi’s RS models. Five new body colours are available, such as Daytona Grey in a matte finish, along with five new wheel designs. Similar to many other Audi products, the refreshed A3 offers selectable DRL signatures via the infotainment system.

As far as body styles are concerned, the five-door A3 Sportback will still not make the jump across the Atlantic. We think that’s a real shame, but the reality is that most Americans don’t care about hatchbacks.

New Audio System

Inside the 2025 Audi A3, the update is more extensive. A new Sonos audio system is part of the mix and softer-touch materials are applied, including a textured fabric that is made from 100-percent recycled polyester and Dinamica microfibre, giving the cabin a more premium look and feel.

The air vents are redesigned, while the new shifter is borrowed from the brand’s electric models.  Also on the centre console is a wireless charging tray for smartphones.

Same Engine for North America

In Europe and other global markets, the 2025 Audi A3 offers gasoline and diesel variants of a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine with mild hybrid technology. No such thing will be available in Canada, meaning we’ll continue to get the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. A seven-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive come standard once again. Look for fuel consumption to remain unchanged at 8.1 L/100 km.

Performance and handling characteristics should be very similar to those of the outgoing 2024 model, which is The Car Guide’s Best Buy in the subcompact luxury car segment.

Both the 2025 Audi A3 and the sportier S3 will arrive in Canadian showrooms this summer. Pricing has yet to be announced.
