Jeep Confirms Gladiator 4xe Plug-in Hybrid Coming in 2025
Jeep originally had this plan to electrify its entire vehicle lineup by 2025. Well, things have changed. But guess what? The Gladiator will be able to live up to the brand’s promise.
Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa has confirmed via a post on LinkedIn that the midsize pickup will add a 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain next year.

Unfortunately, no other details were provided as part of this announcement. It’s not immediately clear whether we’ll see it for the 2025 model year or not, but we believe so. Remember, the updated 2024 Gladiator hit the market as recently as this February.
Similar to the Wrangler 4xe, the upcoming Gladiator 4xe will combine a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and 17kWh battery. Look for the same 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. However, pure electric range will likely be slightly different from the 35 km we have with the Wrangler 4xe.
The only other hybrid midsize pickup on the market right now is the new 2024 Toyota Tacoma i-Force MAX, but that one can’t be plugged in or driven on battery power alone.
Production will take place in Toledo, Ohio alongside other Gladiator and Wrangler models. The Gladiator 4xe will join the Wrangler 4xe as well as the Grand Cherokee 4xe in Jeep’s electrified portfolio.
