Alfa Romeo’s Gas-Powered Quadrifoglio Models Bowing Out With Limited Super Sport Edition
Alfa Romeo made it clear last February that its formidable twin-turbocharged V6 won’t return after the 2024 model year. Today, the company announced a Super Sport special edition for the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio limited at 275 units and 175 units, respectively. A tiny number of those are available to Canadian customers.
“A milestone for all Alfisti, the new Super Sport is the ultimate expression of Quadrifoglio, represented by extremely limited volumes and bespoke design cues,” said Larry Dominique, head of Alfa Romeo North America. “While we look forward to the future of the four-leaf clover with the amazing performance benefits of electrification, the twin-turbo V-6 Super Sport is a fitting final chapter to the combustion engine Quadrifoglio in Canada, and we’re thrilled to bring an exclusive number to Alfisti in North America.”

The first thing you’ll probably notice on the outside is that the Quadrifoglio logo’s background colour is now black instead of white. Furthermore, extensive use of carbon fibre is visible in the “V” of the grille shield, on the mirror caps and on the roof (optional on Giulia only). Completing the package are dark five-hole alloy wheels (19-inch for Giulia, 21-inch for Stelvio) and black Brembo brake calipers.
The Quadrifoglio Super Sport models are available in three body colours including three-layer Rosso Etna, metallic Nero Vulcano and Bianco Alfa (Giulia only).
Inside, 3D red carbon-fibre trim makes its debut on the dashboard, centre console and door panels. The front headrests are embroidered with the “Super Sport” logo in red and the car’s number in black to distinguish them as part of the exclusive limited series. The steering wheel is upholstered in leather and Alcantara with black stitching and carbon-fibre accents.
Some people will likely be disappointed that Alfa Romeo engineers haven’t made any modifications to the twin-turbo V6, which still delivers 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. However, it should be noted that the engine is combined with a mechanical limited-slip differential derived from the Giulia GTA as well as a carbon fibre driveshaft. The company claims the sedan is capable of 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.8 seconds, while the SUV does it in 3.6 seconds thanks to all-wheel drive.
In Canada, pricing starts at $109,535 (freight and PDI included) for the 2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport and $116,485 for the 2024 Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport—roughly $10,000 and $13,000 more expensive, respectively, than the standard Quadrifoglio models. Both can be ordered now, and needless to say you should act fast. Deliveries to dealerships are scheduled for this fall.
A year ago, Alfa Romeo celebrated 100 years of Quadrifoglio cars with a 100th Anniversary Edition of the Giulia and Stelvio. Only 100 units of each were made available as 2024 models—not just for Canada but for the entire planet.
Alfa Romeo has set a goal to become an EV-only brand by 2027. Rumour has it that future electric Quadrifoglio models could generate as much as 1,000 horsepower.
