Watch: Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Sets Four New Speed Records
Koenigsegg is back at it again. On June 27, the Swedish hypercar maker managed to set four new world speed records during a single run at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden.
With test driver behind the wheel, Koenigsegg’s Jesko Absolut accelerated to 400 km/h in 18.82 seconds and 250 mph (402 km/h) in 19.20 seconds. When factoring braking into the equation, the Scandinavian missile achieved 0-400-0 km/h in 27.83 seconds—beating the Koenigsegg Regera’s record time set last year—and 0-250-0 mph in 28.27 seconds.

In case you forgot, the Jesko Absolut packs a twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8 engine that puts out 1,600 horsepower when fed with E85 fuel.
Apart from a roll cage for safety and a driver’s seat borrowed from the Koenigsegg One:1, the car that was used to set these records was in standard condition, the automaker insists. It rode on the same Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.
"This record run validated the accuracy of the simulated and calculated performance of the Jesko Absolut, which gives us great confidence in its ability to outright be the fastest fully homologated production car in the world," CEO Christian von Koenigsegg said.
The Jesko Absolut reached a top speed of 412 km/h on that day, but Koenigsegg’s plan is to try and beat the current official mark of 490 km/h set by the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ in 2019. It could happen later in 2024, as a matter of fact. Stay tuned.
