2025 Nissan Rogue Hears Nature Calling, Adds Rock Creek Model

We’ve known for a while that Nissan was preparing a more adventurous variant of its compact SUV. Well, this is it. The all-new 2025 Rogue Rock Creek takes a page from the larger Pathfinder and joins a growing list of outdoorsy rivals.

Going up against the Subaru Forester Wilderness, Mazda CX-50 Meridian, Ford Bronco Sport Badlands, Jeep Compass Trailhawk and the like, this rugged Rogue is dressed for the occasion—available in Everest White, Super Black, Boulder Gray or Baja Storm. Check out the unique front grille featuring silver accents, the various gloss black and Lava Red accents, as well as thick cladding on the lower body.

Things get more serious with 235/65R17 Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires fitted to 17-inch satin black wheels. Meanwhile, a tubular roof rack with integrated cross bars accommodates extra cargo.

In a wise move by Nissan, water-repellent leatherette covers the seats, the front ones featuring embroidered “Rock Creek” logos. Orange stitching can be found on the seats, steering wheel and dashboard.

A key addition we like is the enhanced 360-degree camera system with available off-road view, helping drivers tackle challenging trails and go around obstacles. It works at speeds up to 20 km/h. Hill descent control is another useful tool, maintaining a steady speed when going down steep inclines.

Lastly, select Rogue models benefit from ProPILOT Assist 2.1, which allows attentive drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel in single-lane freeway operation.

Since last year’s elimination of the naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder, the only engine available has been a turbocharged 1.5-litre triple-cylinder. Despite the extra power (201 hp, 225 lb-ft), fuel economy is not any better in the real world and complaints by owners have led U.S. regulators to open an investigation. To this day, no safety recall or technical service bulletin has been announced.

The 2025 Nissan Rogue will reach dealerships later this summer. Pricing will be shared closer to start of sale. Nissan Canada has confirmed to The Car Guide that the Rogue Rock Creek will arrive sometime in 2025, without being more specific.
