Performance-Focused Genesis GV60 Magma to Enter Production in 2025
Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis has participated in the Goodwood Festival of Speed for four consecutive years, and at the 2024 edition taking place this week three concepts from its new Magma performance program—which was initially unveiled in March at Genesis House in New York—are on display.
They include the GV60 Magma, G80 Magma Special and X Gran Berlinetta, the first one making its global dynamic debut led by brand ambassador and racing legend Jacky Ickx on the famous Goodwood Hillclimb. Genesis used the occasion to make a key announcement, too.

The GV60 Magma will be the first Magma vehicle to hit production. Sales will begin next year in South Korea, with other markets to follow including North America.

Through the Magma program, Genesis ultimately aims to develop a high-end variant of each model within the existing lineup, maximizing both styling and performance. The GV60 electric compact crossover will kick things off, essentially replicating the IONIQ 5 N formula from parent company Hyundai.
The details and specs will be shared at a later date, but look for improved battery and motor technology, special chassis and suspension tuning, as well as aerodynamics and thermodynamics enhancements. The vehicle is widened and lowered, effectively dropping its centre of gravity for increased stability during spirited driving.
Genesis says the future production model will closely resemble the concept, with necessary modifications made to comply with regional regulations. It will also feature a Magma-exclusive sound system and unique, cutting-edge displays that prioritize only essential data and functions, enabling the driver to fully immerse themselves in the driving experience.
