Tesla Cybertruck Now Available to Order in Canada and It’s Mighty Expensive
Tesla has finally opened orders for the Cybertruck in Canada, but the news isn’t as exciting as it sounds because of the outrageous prices.
The first reservation holders in the country yesterday received an invitation from Tesla to convert their reservations into firm orders, as many have shared on social media including the Cybertruck Canada Facebook group. For now, only two models can be ordered.

First, the Cybertruck AWD Foundation Series comes with a base MSRP of $137,990, which doesn’t include freight, PDI and dealer fees or the applicable taxes such as the federal luxury tax. It’s roughly the same price that customers in the U.S. have to pay when factoring in the current exchange rate.
This dual-motor Cybertruck produces a total of 600 horsepower and sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. It can either travel up to 512 km on a full battery charge or tow up to 4,990 kg (11,000 lbs). The Foundation Series package, which marks the launch of the electric pickup and adds several extras, will be offered for a limited time only.
Then there’s the Cyberbeast Foundation Series starting at $165,990. Essentially, that model will cost owners more than $200,000. Yikes.
Granted, it really is a beast of a truck, with three motors generating a combined 845 horsepower and achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 2.7 seconds. Max towing capacity is unchanged at 4,990 kg (11,000 lbs), but range is estimated at 484 km.
In both cases, deliveries are planned for October or November. Orders for other Tesla Cybertruck models are expected to open toward the end of 2024.
As a friendly reminder, the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning’s MSRP ranges from $59,995-$110,495. Not only is it much cheaper, but customers can get substantial rebates from the manufacturer in addition to some EV incentives from the federal and provincial governments. Meanwhile, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV, which is currently available in 3WT, 4WT or RST First Edition trim, stretches from $78,070-$120,870 (including the various fees and the luxury tax when applicable).
