2025 Toyota Sienna Adds a Bunch of Features Parents Will Love

The Toyota Sienna is the best buy in the minivan segment according to The Car Guide, and it will only get better for 2025 with, among other things, a new top-line Platinum model. Units will start to arrive in dealerships this fall.

On the outside, the 2025 Sienna brings new wheel choices, one of which is a two-tone design in Platinum trim, and a new Magnetic Gray Metallic colour option on Limited and Platinum models. However, these are far from being the most notable additions.

Toyota has spent a lot more effort inside. New seating upholstery can be found including a striking Macadamia and Black combination (Platinum), plus revised centre consoles with a new woodgrain finish (Platinum and Limited), gloss black serrated finish (XSE) or anodized dark gray paint (XLE and LE).

Speaking of the console, two practical features are now available with the Sienna (standard in Platinum trim). There’s a built-in vacuum for quick cleanup of crumbs, dirt and debris on the go, as well as a FridgeBox to keep drinks and snacks cool and easily accessible when heading to a soccer game or on a family vacation.

Elsewhere, the latest Toyota Multimedia system is now standard across the line. Ditto for a new wireless charging pad that charges devices more quickly. All Siennas also get dual microphones for increased call clarity and USB-C charging throughout the cabin.

The final new item you need to know about is the Advanced Rear Seat Reminder, a global first for Toyota. If the system senses movement in the second or third row after the ignition is cycled off, the driver's door has been opened then closed and the vehicle has been locked, it will flash the hazard lights and sound the door lock chime.

But that’s not all. Approximately 90 seconds after the initial warning, if the movement is still detected by the sensor, the system will sound the horn as part of the escalation warning. If the driver has opted to receive notifications via the Toyota app, approximately four minutes after the escalation warning starts, the vehicle can send a push notification in addition to a text message to the mobile number saved in the user’s account. Finally, after an additional two minutes of notifications, the system will attempt to generate an automated phone call.

Toyota claims its millimeter-wave radar is unique from competitive ultrasonic systems in that it is higher resolution in its movement sensing and can detect movement underneath objects such as a blanket. It also has an advantage sensing occupants in low-light scenarios.

Remember, the Sienna is available in a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with a hybrid powertrain paired to an electronically controlled CVT. It delivers a combined 245 horsepower and burns no more than 6.7 L/100 km on average according to Natural Resources Canada.

Pricing for the 2025 Toyota Sienna will be announced at a later date. For the record, the outgoing 2024 model carries a base MSRP of $44,950.
