Ford Super Duty Keeps the Updates Coming for 2025

The 2024 North American Truck of the Year is not resting on its laurels, offering styling and content updates for the 2025 model year. We’re of course talking about the Ford Super Duty, which also received updates the past two years.

For starters, the refreshed Platinum model sports a more premium appearance inside and out with a new Black Onyx cabin with Platinum Blue accents. The exterior is updated with a painted black grille and tailgate applique, as well as body-coloured door handles.

A newly available Plus Package in Platinum trim raises the bar that much higher with a distinctive satin finish grille featuring bright chrome inserts, exclusive Smoked Truffle interior, perforated Venetian Leather featuring French stitching and Max Recline Seats for extra comfort. A 2kW Pro Power Onboard generator provides mobile power for tools or recreational equipment.

Just below in the Super Duty lineup, the Lariat model gets a high-end synthetic seating material called ActiveX for more durability and easier cleaning. Meanwhile, body colour selection expands with the addition of Avalanche and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.

Optionally, the Ford Pro Vehicle Integration System 2.0 will take the pain out of upfits by making it easy to access vehicle signals, create custom safety interlocks and integrate user controls into the centre display or overhead toggle switches. New Trailer Technology bundles, including options for auxiliary cameras, Individual Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System and Blind Spot Information System with trailer coverage, will improve visibility while towing.

As for powertrain options, the 6.8-litre V8 (405 hp, 445 lb-ft) now comes standard on XLT and Lariat models, replacing the 7.3-litre V8 (430 hp, 485 lb-ft), as is the case in base XL trim. The 7.3-litre mill, meanwhile, replaces the 6.7-litre Power Stroke V8 (up to 500 hp, up to 1,200 lb-ft) on King Ranch and Platinum models. The diesel remains an option across all trims. All engines come standard with a version of the heavy-duty, 10-speed TorqShift automatic transmission.

Pricing for the 2025 Ford Super Duty lineup ranges from $58,979 for the F-250 XL 4x2 Regular Cab to $121,660 for the F-450 Platinum 4x4 SuperCrew, not including $2,395 destination and delivery.
