Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron Debuts With Sportier Looks, Increased Range
The 2024 Paris Motor Show kicked off on Monday with Audi introducing the Sportback variant of the new 2025 Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron, which are closely related to the next-generation, battery-powered Porsche Macan. The four-ring brand continues a tradition of launching sportier-looking SUVs with a coupe-like body style.
Based on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, the Q6 Sportback e-tron models are more aerodynamic than their conventional SUV siblings, as evidenced by a drag coefficient of 0.26 versus 0.28. Range is improved in the process. The official ratings from Natural Resources Canada will come at a later date, but expect more than 494 km with the Q6 Sportback e-tron and more than 443 km with the SQ6 Sportback e-tron.

Due to the redesigned and 37 mm lower roofline, trunk capacity is amputated to 511 litres (or 1,373 litres with the rear seats folded). What doesn’t change is the 64-litre frunk under the hood. Speaking of space, the long wheelbase of 2,899 mm provides generous legroom for all passengers. On the flip side, rear visibility for the driver is slightly compromised.
Styling is positively sporty and eye-catching, with some elements taken from the e-tron GT sedan including the continuous light strip in the rear. The interior, meanwhile, is naturally identical to that of the standard Q6 e-tron SUV, highlighted by the Audi MMI panoramic interface and available passenger-side display.
The 100kWh lithium-ion battery has a usable capacity of 94.9 kWh and will feed a pair of electric motors on all Canadian-spec units. To be clear, quattro all-wheel drive is part of the package. Thanks to an 800V electric architecture, the battery can be charged from 10-80 percent in 21 minutes under ideal conditions.
As for performance, the base Q6 Sportback e-tron delivers up to 456 horsepower, while the sporty SQ6 Sportback e-tron cranks output up to 509 horsepower.
Both will go on sale in Canada in late spring or summer of 2025. Full equipment and pricing details will be announced closer to launch.
