Cadillac Confirms 2026 Lyriq-V, Promises New Levels of Electric Performance
The Cadillac Lyriq is gaining power and range for the 2025 model year, as we wrote in a previous story, but what about a high-performance Lyriq-V? Well, there’s great news.
GM’s luxury brand today ended months of rumours and speculation by confirming the vehicle will launch early in 2025 as a 2026 model.

Described as “stunning technical achievement pushing the performance pedigree of the preeminent sub-brand to new heights,” the Lyriq-V will be the first electric Cadillac to earn the V-Series badge. All we have to show you for now are two pictures (up top and below), and these reveal only minor cosmetic differences with the current Lyriq.
The lower mesh grille and body-coloured rocker panels are some examples. Also, look for larger and uniquely styled wheels wrapped in wider tires.
More information about the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V, including full vehicle specs, will be shared in early 2025, possibly at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit (which returns to its usual January timeslot, remember) or at CES in Las Vegas a few days prior. We’ll keep you posted.
What’s New for 2025?
In case you didn’t know, the single-motor Lyriq RWD gets a bump from 340 hp to 365 hp for 2025, while peak torque is unchanged at 325 lb-ft. Despite that, it’s now said to be able to drive up to 525 km rather than 505 km with a full charge of its 102kWh battery, according to Natural Resources Canada. That’s because combined energy consumption has gone down from 23.8 kWh/100 km to 22.4 kWh/100 km.
As for the dual-motor Lyriq AWD, also featuring a 102kWh battery, output has increased from 500 hp to 515 hp. This model adds a Velocity mode that boosts torque up to 524 lb-ft for a short period, maximizing acceleration. Range has been adjusted, as well: with the 11.5kWh on-board charger, it’s up from 494 km to 513 km, but with the 19.2kWh on-board charger, it drops to 488 km. Average consumption remains at 23.6 kWh/100 km with the former and jumps to 24.7 kWh/100 km with the latter.
The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq is expected to go on sale by the end of this year or early next year. Canadian pricing will be announced closer to launch.
