New Hyundai Elantra Sneaks Out In Korea

Hyundai is one busy, busy company these days. With new models rolling out every week (or so it seems), the Korean company has been bringing their newest cars to a plethora of international shows, and the Elantra hasn’t escaped.

Unveiled at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, the Elantra (known overseas as the Avante) rolls into 2011 wearing a very similar skin to its Sonata and Accent brethren, demonstrating how strongly Hyundai feels about tying their entire product line together with a familial styling language. True to its form, the 2011 Elantra promises to be the sportiest looking of Hyundai sedans, and backs up this promise of performance with a 138 horsepower direct-injected 1.6 litre four cylinder. Backed by a six speed automatic transmission, this new car should be an engaging driver while providing owners with a 10 percent increase in fuel economy.
