Honda CR-V TrailSport Coming This Year

Published on January 15, 2025 in News by Guillaume Rivard

The Honda CR-V will get a mid-cycle update for 2026, and we’ll see it in showrooms later this year. The highlight will be the addition of a rugged TrailSport model for off-road enthusiasts, following the lead of the larger Pilot, Passport and Ridgeline.

Unfortunately, we don’t know anything more about this CR-V or other changes for 2026, so patience is still in order.

The announcement was made today by Honda in the U.S. as part of the company’s annual product outlook. The smaller HR-V will get a mid-cycle update, too, including styling revisions and new tech features. However, forget about a beefed-up HR-V TrailSport that would take on the Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness.

As previously reported, the second-generation 2026 Passport will launch in February (pricing TBD). In TrailSport trim, it will be the most rugged and most capable Honda SUV ever made.

Then, late in 2025, the all-new 2026 Prelude will bring back a sporty coupe to the lineup, albeit one with a hybrid powertrain. It will become Honda’s fifth electrified vehicle, joining the CR-V Hybrid, Accord Hybrid, Civic Hybrid and Prologue.

Honda’s luxury brand Acura will launch the highly anticipated 2025 ADX this spring as an entry-level subcompact SUV sharing its turbocharged engine with the Integra. This new model will be cheaper than the best-selling RDX, although pricing has yet to be announced.

Speaking of the Integra, exterior and interior changes are coming to the refreshed 2026 model. Curiously, there’s no word about a redesign for the RDX, whose current generation dates back to 2019.

Finally, in a separate announcement on Wednesday, Acura said it will revive the RSX nameplate as a sporty electric crossover—the first model engineered on the new Honda-developed EV platform and featuring the new proprietary ASIMO OS operating system that was recently introduced at CES 2025.

The company this week began development testing in real-world conditions. Production is scheduled to start later in 2025 at the new Honda EV Hub in Ohio, with sales to follow in the first half of next year.
