2026 GMC Hummer EV is the Quickest and Most Agile Yet
Think the GMC Hummer EV has gone quiet after launching with much fanfare a few years ago? Well, there’s a mid-cycle update planned for 2026 that puts the electric supertruck back in the spotlight.
Following CrabWalk, the company is now introducing King Crab, which takes the Hummer EV’s standard four-wheel steering capability to the next level. When activated, the rear wheels turn significantly faster than the front wheels, allowing the vehicle to perform extremely tight turns and move around obstacles more easily.

In the snow, sand or any other loose surface, you could basically turn on a dime as shown in the following video posted by GMC:
This new feature won’t just be available on the 2026 model, by the way. It’s also expected to launch to all 2022 through 2025 Hummer EV Pickup and SUV owners through an over-the-air update available later this year.
Quicker Than Ever
The other big news for 2026 is a Carbon Fibre Edition with only an ultra-limited number scheduled for production. Look for an exclusive Magnus Gray Matte exterior and Velocity Ember interior theme, unique 22-inch carbon fibre black wheels (including the spare wheel on the SUV), carbon fibre inserts in the base hood, mirror caps and skid plate, plus a black approach shield and black emblems.

Even better, this will be the most explosive Hummer EV yet, accelerating from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in a mere 2.8 seconds. GMC says optimization of software and propulsion calibration as well as developments in hardware and analysis work make it all possible, without being more specific.
More Changes in Store
What else is new for 2026? The Hummer EV benefits from revised damper tuning for improved overall ride quality, a bidirectional charging function allowing the vehicle to charge another compatible EV or electric device, plus enhanced Super Cruise with automatic lane changes that can sync up with your route when using the navigation system.

Finally, two additional exterior paint colours are available including Coastal Dune and Auburn Matte, along with two new interior themes called Granite Drift and Stealth Eclipse.
The 2026 GMC Hummer EV Pickup and SUV will go on sale later this year. Pricing and range figures will be announced closer to launch.
