BMW Cuts $39,000 Off the Price of Its Worst Seller in Canada
What do you think is BMW’s least popular vehicle in Canada? No, it's not a car, but rather the XM. The polarizing SUV is the most powerful and by far the most expensive in the lineup, and it managed to sell just 96 units across the country in 2023 and another 93 last year.
For the 2026 model year, which will be its fourth on the market, the XM will keep just one trim level, called Label Red, and it will slash its price from $259,000 down to $220,000—matching the outgoing base trim. That said, when you factor in all the various fees and the federal luxury tax, it will come just shy of a quarter million dollars.

The twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 under the hood combines with an electric motor driven by a 29.5kWh high-voltage battery to form a plug-in hybrid system with an official zero-emission range of 50 km. Forget the 644 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque: the only way to go now is 738 hp and 738 lb-ft.
These figures place the BMW XM Label in direct competition with the Aston Martin DBX707/DBX S and Lamborghini Urus SE, among others. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is a tad slower at 3.8 seconds, however.

What else is new for 2026? There are additional options for customizing the exterior, such as BMW Individual Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic paint, a new welcome lighting animation and 23-inch M alloy wheels (style 1096 M) now available in a Jet Black finish. Customers can also choose from three new interior combinations, like the BMW Individual Night Blue Full Merino Leather with Vintage Coffee accents pictured below.

One more thing: the capacity of the AC on-board charger has been increased from 7.4 to 11 kW, which will speed up charging sessions at home.
Production of the 2026 BMW XM in Spartanburg, South Carolina will begin in August. Unless a trade agreement is reached between Washington and Ottawa, it will be subject to Canadian countertariffs on U.S.-made vehicles, so a price adjustment by BMW Canada is possible.
