Jeep Gives Another Look at All-New 2026 Cherokee Before Big Debut

Published on June 25, 2025 in News by Guillaume Rivard

After confirming the return of the Cherokee a few weeks ago, Jeep has released new images ahead of its imminent official debut. The vehicle is scheduled to hit the market towards the end of 2025.

As you probably remember, the compact SUV was discontinued in March 2023 after a non-continuous run of 49 years and left a big void in the Jeep lineup that the smaller Compass hasn’t quite been able to fill since.

In addition to the photo above, which reveals the sleek rear end of the new Cherokee, the company has shared a computer-generated video on its YouTube channel, illustrating the evolution of the Cherokee through the years:

The transition between the last generation and the upcoming 2026 Cherokee shows a significant departure in terms of styling, as well as slightly increased exterior dimensions. Speaking of which, Jeep has previously described it as a “midsize SUV,” though still positioned below the Grand Cherokee.

We also know that a “new, efficient and powerful hybrid propulsion option” will complement the traditional gas engine that’s expected to come standard.

There are no shots of the interior for now, but one thing's for sure: Jeep will have to improve build quality, offer a more refined interior and be extremely careful about its pricing strategy so as not to repeat its past mistakes.

On that note, Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf has promised that “the all-new Jeep Cherokee will boast competitive pricing that strikes at the core of the largest vehicle segment and sits perfectly between Jeep Compass and Jeep Grand Cherokee to bolster our winning mainstream line up.” Stay tuned.
