Maserati MC20 Gets a Refresh and a New Name: MCPura
Maserati’s exotic, mid-engined sports car gets an update for the 2026 model year. Along the way, the company is giving it a new name. Forget the MC20 and say hello to the MCPura.
The silhouette is unmistakable, but the treatment of the front and rear ends has evolved. The grille changes shape and becomes trapezoidal, while the splitter below is also redesigned.

The rear fascia is a bit more sculpted than before, although it takes a trained eye to appreciate the evolution. Ditto for the infusion of magenta and blue in the logos and lettering.
New-look wheels are available, just like this new body colour called “AI Aqua Rainbow”, presented in a matte finish on the coupe and in a gloss finish on the Cielo roadster. “Devil Orange”, “Verde Royale” and “Night Interaction” are other additions to the colour palette.
The signature butterfly doors remain, revealing the carbon-fibre structure of the chassis, but the MCPura Cielo introduces a retractable roof in polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) glass, with the ability to switch from opaque to transparent in a second at the push of a button.
Inside, the standout features in both cars are the seats in Alcantara Ice, laser-etched to bring out the Trident with brand-new visuals and further convey three-dimensionality. Otherwise, the cabin is pretty much identical to the outgoing MC20’s.
Also carried over, unsurprisingly, is the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre Nettuno V6, which continues to generate 621 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. All this is transferred to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Expect the same 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.9 seconds with the coupe and 3 seconds with the convertible.
The 2026 Maserati MCPura will enter production this summer at a high-tech plant in Modena, Italy, which is also home to the Officine Maserati Fuoriserie, a recently opened space dedicated to the most refined customization at the House of the Trident. The first units should land in Canada early next year.
