Ford Recalls 22,000 F-150 Trucks in Canada Because of Rear Axle Problems
Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 22,000 F-150 trucks in Canada due to a safety issue related to rear axle bolts. The defect affects 22,663 vehicles from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 model years equipped with the “Trailer Tow Max Duty” option.
According to a notice published by Transport Canada, the rear axle hub bolts could break, causing wear on the axle shaft splines. This mechanical issue could result in a loss of power to the wheels, increasing the risk of an accident. If the vehicle is parked without the parking brake engaged, it could even start rolling unexpectedly. A parked vehicle that moves could create a risk of injury or accident.

This recall, identified as number 25S82, is in addition to a previous recall (23S65) that already targeted certain models for the same type of defect. It is part of a larger operation involving approximately 103,000 F-150 trucks in the United States. Ford will send notices by mail to the owners of the affected vehicles. They will be invited to visit a dealership for a free repair.
This is not the first time Ford has issued a large recall this year: in May, the company recalled more than 11,000 F-150 Lightning electric trucks in Canada due to a problem with the steering controls. If you think your vehicle is affected by this recall, visit the Transport Canada website or contact your Ford dealer directly.
