These 9 Vehicles Offer the Best Seats in 2025, Study Says

Published on August 25, 2025 in News by Guillaume Rivard

The quality of seats found in new vehicles has declined slightly this year compared to 2024, according to a new study by J.D. Power which is based on responses from more than 90,000 American consumers who purchased or leased a 2025 model.

The most frequently cited seat problems are seat range adjustment, headrest comfort and seat material scuff/soil, apparently.

“Seat and powertrain are the two categories that most influence vehicle appeal and satisfaction,” said Lisa Boor, senior manager of auto benchmarking and mobility development at J.D. Power. “Increasing concerns regarding seat controls, particularly those that are complex or difficult to operate, such as memory and massage functions, are being observed in both premium and mass market segments.”

J.D. Power measures seat quality by the number of owner-reported problems per 100 vehicles and the level of satisfaction during the first 90 days of ownership. The lower the score, the better the seat.

Here are the nine MY2025 models that came out on top as winners of their respective segments:
