If you’ve got plenty of money, a desire to impress the neighbours, and less than an ounce of taste, you might care about the following sentence: Mercedes Benz has released images and details pertaining to the 2011 R-Class.

As the brand’s highly controversial people mover, the R-Class has been the recipient of what many would call a lukewarm reception. Looking to pick up the wagon-cum-minivan’s appeal, Mercedes has smoothed over the R-Class’ previously unkempt skin, bringing the brand’s new front fascia to bear with a massive tri-point star in the center of a deeply set and minimally finned grill. A few new bulges and a pair of sculpted headlights complete the transformation, while the rear receives much of the same treatment. Under the hood, the familiar 3.5L V6 and Bluetec diesel rolling into 2011 unchanged while the cabin is treated to a mild update.
