Nissan, Subaru Sports Cars Adding Colourful, Limited-Edition Models for 2026
Sports car enthusiasts need to turn their attention to Nissan and Subaru, which announced cool new limited-edition models this week.
Let's start with the Nissan Z. The 2026 lineup will add a new Heritage Edition inspired by the 1990s and the fourth generation of the Z line, namely the 300ZX (Z32) that was available with a twin-turbo V6. Based on the Performance trim, it recreates that classic model with 19-inch Rays wheels in a striking bronze finish, a carbon fibre rear spoiler adorned with retro "Twin Turbo" badging and bronze "Twin Turbo" graphics on the sides.

Interior enhancements include unique door kick plates and exclusive floor mats, but as you can see on the pictures, we mostly dig the Midnight Purple paint applied to the body—an iconic livery in Nissan performance car history from the now-retired GT-R.
Like the 300ZX, the 2026 Nissan Z features a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6, currently rated at 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque (Z NISMO: 420 horsepower, 384 lb-ft). The Heritage Edition will be limited to 500 units, although its availability in Canada has yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile at Subaru…
For its part, Subaru is gearing up to launch a Series.Yellow edition of the BRZ coupe and the WRX sports sedan for the 2026 model year. A public debut will take place this Sunday at the Boxerfest event in Pennsylvania.
In both cases, the car is based on their respective tS model, which stands out with unique suspension hardware and upgraded interiors. Of course, each Series.Yellow unit will turn heads with a Sunrise Yellow body colour, also seen on the Japan-only BRZ STI Sport and WRX STI S207. Alas, a single picture, showing the BRZ, has been released so far.
The main interior change is the addition of yellow stitching on the seats, console and door panels, among other things. It’s business as usual under the hood, meaning a 271-hp turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine in the WRX, as well as a 228-hp naturally aspirated 2.4-litre engine in the BRZ.
Production will be capped at 350 units apiece. Again, Subaru is unable to confirm the availability of these special models in Canada at this time. We will keep you posted in due course.
