Lexus LS to Bow Out With 2026 Heritage Edition
Lexus launched in Canada back in 1990 with the LS, but the full-size luxury sedan has been an extremely right sight lately. In fact, only 25 units were sold in the country in 2023 and another 28 in 2024.
Well, the 2026 model year will be the 36th and final one since the company is now announcing an LS 500 AWD Heritage Edition “as a final year tribute to the car that launched the brand.” A mere five copies will be available across Canada. That's right: just five.

To be clear, there will be no other model in the lineup. The Heritage Edition sports a new body colour called Ninety Noir complete with dark exterior accents and 20-inch split-20-spoke alloy wheels in a Dark Gray Metallic finish.
Inside, the Rioja Red interior is an LS first and comes with a “Lexus LS Heritage Edition” emblem etched on the centre console. Reproducing the car’s silhouette, this cosmetic addition is also embroidered on the headrests.
Meanwhile, content includes a panoramic glass roof, Laser Special Black premium wood trim refreshed with a new pattern, Ultrasuede-trimmed headliner, 23-speaker, 2,400-watt Mark Levinson Reference surround sound system, as well as Advanced Park assist.
Forget about the hybrid system: all five units will be motivated by the twin-turbocharged 3.4-litre V6 engine, which delivers 416 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque through a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system featuring a Torsen limited-slip centre differential.
The 2026 Lexus LS 500 AWD Heritage Edition is expected to arrive at Canadian dealerships early next year. We’ll know how much it costs at that time. For the record, the 2025 LS ranges from about $117,000-$142,000 including the various charges and federal luxury tax.
Incidentally, another large car from Lexus, the LC 500, will be back for a ninth and possibly final model year in 2026. A new Inspiration Series model, limited to 200 coupes and 350 convertibles for the North American market, has been announced. Again, no hybrid will be available.
