Upcoming 2027 Chevrolet Bolt Spotted Undisguised at Tesla Supercharger

Following a first official preview and some details coming from the General Motors this summer, the next-generation Chevrolet Bolt—set to launch as a 2027 model—was recently spotted on public roads without any camouflage.

Someone managed to take a series of photos of the vehicle while it was charging at a Tesla Supercharger in California and then shared them on their Instagram account.

The native NACS charging port is located on the left front fender and we can now clearly see the entire front end, including the redesigned headlights and daytime running lights, the black bar connecting them (with the Chevrolet logo on it), as well as the black trapezoidal grille in the lower part of the bumper giving the Bolt a sportier look.

There’s a similar treatment in the rear, with revamped, 3D-style taillights and turn signals united by a black bar sporting the Chevrolet bowtie. A textured panel adorns the black lower bumper to once again create a more dynamic appearance.

Overall, the lines look more like those of the Bolt EUV than the Bolt EV, as we expected. Incidentally, GM has already confirmed that the new 2027 Bolt will no longer include the letters "EV" in its name. And that pale blue body color shown here could be a completely new hue, although it reminds us of the Rapid Blue that Chevrolet offered with the 2020-2025 Corvette and 2022-2023 Camaro.

None of the shots posted by the user on Instagram reveal the interior of the vehicle, but it’s safe to assume there will be similarities with the Equinox EV.

The new Bolt will ride on the same BEV2 platform at its predecessor but feature a larger-capacity LFP battery for lower costs, longer range and faster charging. The most important thing for Chevrolet will be to avoid the battery problems and massive recall that tarnished the reputation and hastened the retirement of the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV.

The Fairfax, Kansas assembly plant is scheduled to begin 2027 Chevrolet Bolt production in late 2025 with deliveries starting in 2026. An official debut is likely just around the corner.
