2026 Aston Martin DB12 S Adds to “Super Tourer” Creds

A third car in Aston Martin’s modern lineup is getting the S treatment. Following the DBX and Vantage, it's now the DB12's turn to join the club.

Aston Martin Director of Vehicle Performance Simon Newton says the new DB12 S will “preserve signature levels of refinement, boost vehicle performance and amplify driver engagement,” thus “elevating the Super Tourer ethos to a thrilling new level.”

Once again, the star is the engine. In this application, the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 increases from 671 to 690 horsepower. Although peak torque remains at 590 lb-ft, the company has revised the launch control system, so acceleration from 0-100 km/h is shortened by a tenth of a second (3.6 to 3.5 seconds).

Driver and passenger alike will appreciate the deeper sound coming out of the new stainless steel quad tailpipes. However, if that's not enough, a titanium exhaust system is available as an option and increases the decibel count by 1.5, in addition to saving 26 lbs.

Another significant upgrade for the DB12 S is the standard fitment of carbon ceramic brakes, which combine linear brake response and consistent pedal feel with exceptional fade resistance while saving 60 lbs of unsprung weight compared to steel brakes.

As for the chassis, engineers have fine-tuned the settings in order to enhance the car’s agility, precision and feel. For example, there's a stiffer rear stabilizer bar and firmer dampers that improve roll and pitch control. The wheel camber, toe and caster angles have also been tweaked, while the electronic rear differential will allow for faster corner exit speeds, Aston Martin claims.

For their part, designers have integrated a new front splitter and new hood openings while reshaping the rear diffuser. These changes combine with the signature red accents as well as gloss black trim pieces.

The interior of DB12 S features a host of unique details starting with a red anodized finish to the knurled metal drive mode rotary controller. Three trim environments are available including Accelerate leather and Alcantara trim, Inspire S semi-aniline leather and Alcantara, and Inspire S full semi-aniline leather. The standard 16-way Sport Plus electric front seats can be replaced by Carbon Fibre Performance seats.
