2026 Nissan Ariya Sticks Around With No Changes But Slashed Prices

Published on November 7, 2025 in Electric by Guillaume Rivard

While Nissan is pulling the plug on the Ariya for the 2026 model year in the U.S. despite sales being up 24% so far in 2025, the opposite is true in Canada. The electric crossover soldiers on even though sales were down 19% after nine months compared to 2024, mostly as a result of reduced or suspended government incentives.

You may have seen pictures of a refreshed Ariya online in recent days, with some design cues borrowed from the new 2026 LEAF. Following its official debut at the Japan Mobility Show, it will soon launch in its domestic market. Others will have to wait.

The Canadian-spec 2026 Nissan Ariya, which is now on sale, features no cosmetic revisions or technological updates. It continues to offer two battery sizes as well as the choice between front-wheel drive (in Quebec and B.C. only) and e-4ORCE all-wheel drive.

However, the various models have been renamed for the sake of consistency with the rest of Nissan's lineup. More importantly, a significant price cut applies in most cases, as the company aims to make the Ariya more competitive and more appealing to consumers.

The SV FWD (formerly Engage FWD) and SL e-4ORCE (formerly Evolve e-4ORCE) models, which use a 63kWh battery, carry an all-inclusive price of $55,830 and $56,930, respectively. This represents an increase of approximately $2,900 for the former, but a saving of $3,000 for the latter.

When it comes to the 87kWh battery, the SL FWD (formerly Evolve FWD), SL+ e-4ORCE (formerly Evolve+ e-4ORCE) and Platinum+ e-4ORCE models now cost $58,330, $60,330 and $63,330, respectively. We’re talking about a price cut of $4,600, almost completely offsetting the loss of the $5,000 federal rebate.

Incidentally, every Ariya comes standard with ProPILOT Assist, NissanConnect EV & Services telematics, wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as access to the NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network offering over 25,000 public chargers across Canada.

As for the brand new 2026 LEAF, which is packed with technology and looks nothing like the hatchback we used to know, all-inclusive prices range from $47,846 to $55,646. An even cheaper entry-level model will be added later.
