2026 BMW Z4 Bows Out With Final Edition
After a long and fairly successful career that dates back to 2002 and has produced three generations, the BMW Z4 will bow out in 2026. The company was not going to miss the opportunity to finish in style, hence the new Z4 Final Edition announced today.
Based on the M40i model, this particular Z4 stands out with exclusive BMW Individual paint, unique interior accents and commemorative badging on the door sill plates. Let’s take a closer look…

You Gotta Love Black
Each 2026 BMW Z4 Final Edition is finished in Frozen Black metallic paint and sports high-gloss black trim to the mirror caps, kidney grille, lower air intake air breathers and exhaust finishers. The dark exterior appearance is completed by a black soft top.

The two-tone wheels in a staggered fitment measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. They are shod with high-performance tires in sizes 255/35R19 and 285/30R20, respectively, and slowed down by M Sport brakes with red-painted calipers.
A Bit More Flash Inside
The interior is mostly black, too, but features distinctive red stitching on the dashboard, centre console, door panels and M Sport seats, the latter trimmed in Vernasca Leather and Alcantara. The floor mats feature red piping and the special door sill plates are inscribed with “Z4 FINAL EDITION.” Oh, and the seatbelts are trimmed in the signature M tricolour motif.

By the way, the Z4 Final Edition comes in a single trim level and is equipped as standard with the Premium Enhanced package ($4,400), which includes a Harman Kardon audio system, ambient lighting and a head-up display, among other things.
Manual or Automatic
Under the hood of the Z4 Final Edition is BMW’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, which produces 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, allowing the roadster to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds according to The Car Guide’s own tests.

The only option for customers will be the transmission: either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed Steptronic automatic. The former comes with special chassis tuning (unique auxiliary springs, specially reinforced anti-roll bar clamp fitted at the front, recalibrated rear damper ECU and variable sport steering software). In both cases, the retail price is $99,900, which is $14,000 more expensive than a regular Z4 M40i.
The 2026 BMW Z4 Final Edition will have a limited production run from February to April 2026, but the number of units allocated for the Canadian market is not specified.
