Gas-Powered 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack Enters Production in Windsor

Published on December 2, 2025 in News by Guillaume Rivard

The all-new, gas-powered 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack, which The Car Guide got the opportunity to test drive in Tennessee just a couple of weeks ago, officially began production on Tuesday at the Windsor assembly plant in Ontario.

More specifically, we're talking about the two-door coupe in Scat Pack trim, which features the high-output version of the twin-turbocharged six-cylinder Hurricane engine producing 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. The first units will arrive at dealerships later this month.

Sometime during the first quarter of 2026, the company will follow up with production of the entry-level Charger Sixpack R/T coupe (with a standard-output Hurricane delivering 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque), for which ordering has now started, as well as four-door Charger Sixpack sedans in both R/T and Scat Pack trim.

Windsor to Add 1,500 Jobs

The 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack Scat Pack officially began production in the presence of Stellantis Canada's new president and CEO, Trevor Longley (formerly of Nissan Canada), as well as Dodge CEO Matt McAlear. The Car Guide took some time to speak with McAlear on the sidelines of the event, so be sure to read our story on Wednesday.

Windsor was already building the fully electric Dodge Charger Daytona along with the Chrysler Pacifica and Grand Caravan minivans. While other factories in Ontario have recently lost some or all of their existing or future production, this one is set to add a third shift in early 2026, increasing the total number of employees from approximately 5,000 to 6,500.

Since 2022, nearly $2 billion has been invested to transform the Windsor plant to manufacture the next generation of Dodge muscle cars.
