2026 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban Are Still the Only SUVs to Offer This Feature
The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, both refreshed last year, are now on sale for the 2026 model year. They still represent two of the best buys in the full-size SUV segment due to their versatility, value and predicted reliability.
Do you know what else they have in common? They are the only two vehicles on the market—outside of certain passenger vans, of course—that can accommodate nine people.

Indeed, the front bench seat option remains available, although only in entry-level LS trim. It saves $575 (Tahoe) or $275 (Suburban) compared to the standard configuration with two seats and a centre a console.
There are two caveats, however. First, as Chevrolet warns on its website, availability is severely limited due to current supply chain shortages. The option might not even be available by the time you read this. Any potential customer should check with their dealership.
Second, it's not a true bench seat with a single seat cushion or even a single seatback. In reality, it's more like three seats pushed together in a 40/20/40 configuration, similar to what you might find in the Chevrolet Silverado. When not in use, the middle seat can be folded down and used as a console with cup holders and storage.
By the way, if you are considering the Tahoe or Suburban, we also need to tell you that prices for 2026 start at $81,325 and $84,825, respectively, which is an increase of $1,400 compared to 2025. And each one still comes with two-wheel drive as standard.
Finally, in case you were wondering, the GMC Yukon, which is closely related to the Chevrolet duo, is not available with a front bench seat.
