Honda Fit Hybrid Unveiled!

Published on August 26, 2010 in New Models by Dan Fritter

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the all-new Honda Fit Hybrid, and it’s not the Honda Fit Hybrid.

Known as the Honda Jazz Hybrid, this may be the single best indicator of Honda’s future in the four-door hybrid market. Looking quite similar to the standard Jazz/Fit, the Hybrid boasts slightly reworked bumper covers and headlights, as well as the unique colour pictured… and will apparently not be coming to North America.

But one can’t help but take that with a grain of salt, when Honda themselves recently said there was no chance of a Honda Jazz/Fit Hybrid ever being produced for any market. And with the Civic Hybrid’s sales falling, and the Fit-based Insight’s sales never really climbing to a place they could fall from, one has to question Honda’s motivation behind the Jazz Hybrid’s development. With much invested in the IMA Hybrid system, and the CR-Z providing buyers with a sporty two-door hybrid, Honda’s showrooms are starved for a fitting four-door compatriot for the new CR-Z, and one is hard-pressed to come up with anything more compelling than a Fit Hybrid.
