Ford Unveils Undercover Cop Car Concept

Published on November 4, 2010 in SEMA by Dan Fritter

Ford’s Police Interceptor is undeniably good. Based upon the well received Taurus sedan, the car’s impressive powerplant options, decent size, and wealth of police preparation package goodies make it a daunting adversary to ne’er-do-wells the world over.

But what happens when you take all proverbial firepower and paint it black?

Well, you get the undercover version. Sure to be the bane of speeders everwhere, this conceptualized version of an undercover Ford Police Interceptor was brought to SEMA by none other than Ford themselves to showcase how stealthy the new car can be. Ditching the highly recognizable head- and taillights of the current Crown Victoria and trading the ubiquitous two-tone police paintjob for a solid hue, the new car hides its LED-lit regalia behind the grill, inside the side vents, and disguised as turn signals within the mirror housings. Inside, the police preparation package’s assortment of technological gadgetry are all hidden behind a selection of panels and hidden compartments.

Although it’s unlikely that such contrivances as the SEMA-bound concept’s 22” staggered wheels and lowered stance will see production, this does give a glimpse at what may await those unsuspecting speeders.
