Jaguar Recalls 2011 XJ Over Faulty Electrics

Published on November 28, 2010 in Recalls by Dan Fritter

In the grand tradition of The Prince of Darkness, Mr. Lucas himself, Jaguar has announced a recall for their latest XJ over faulty electrics leading to problems with the windshield wipers. “According to the NHTSA, the front wiper arms to spindle fixings were not torque to specification during manufacturing. As a result, the securing nuts could fail to perform as intended, resulting in a loss of wiper arm synchronization and a clash of the wiper arms.”

Sounding downright undignified, the situation could lead a complete failure of the wiper arms with the obvious increase in danger. Dealers will remedy the problem (ie; tighten up the nuts) free of charge.
