No One Saw it Coming: 2012 Buick Verano Unveiled

Published on January 8, 2011 in New Models by Dan Fritter

Although the Chevy Cruze is a car that even the uninitiated have assuredly heard about, there hasn’t been any press about this: the Buick version. Recognizing the need for an entry level Buick that’s not too dimensionally different from the existing Regal, General Motors has built what will be the 2012 Verano.

Based upon the Delta II platform made famous by its cheaper Chevy-badged brother, the Verano promises an entirely new interior and exterior with completely new materials throughout. Completing the more upscale image will be a pair of new engines as well, with a 2.4 litre four cylinder providing 177 horsepower at the time of the cars launch with an as-yet unspecified turbocharged engine to follow.
