Subaru is gearing up to offer hybrid versions of the Forester and Crosstrek using next-generation technology (and Toyota’s help). The 2026 Forester Hybrid will even be built in Indiana next year, replacing the Legacy.
The Crosstrek Hybrid should be ready to hit the market right around the same time. It won’t be a plug-in hybrid like it used to—more like Subaru’s answer to the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid. Further details about the powertrains are expected to be shared in the coming year.
