BMW SUVs are recognized for offering the same sportiness as their popular sedans. That is obviously the case with the various versions of the X5, be it the xDrive35i or the powerful and luxurious xDrive50i. As for the 567-horsepower X5 M, it's more of a ballistic missile than it is an SUV. For good measure, a plug-in hybrid, the xDrive40e, is offered, while the xDrive35d diesel will be back sometime this year. Performance does not suffer with any of them.
