The X6 goes hand in hand with the X5, the former essentially a coupe-like variant of the latter. It boasts a lower roofline and sportier overall look, but that comes at the expense of cargo room (776 litres versus 960 litres in the X5). The gasoline engines are the same including a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder and a 4.4-litre V8. Output is identical, too. However, unlike the X5, the X6 does not offer a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
