In the midsize pickup segment, the Colorado is a close relative of the GMC Canyon. The two models share nearly all their mechanical components, starting with the platform and including the 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This powerplant is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. While this generation of the pickup was once available with a lower-output version of the same engine, since 2025 only the high-output option remains, delivering 310 horsepower and 430 ft-lb of torque.
