For a long time, the Kia Rondo and Mazda5 faced virtually no competitors. Things have changed with the arrival of the Chevrolet Orlando, a seven-passenger vehicle whose rear doors are hinged (non-sliding). Under the hood is an Ecotec 2.4L 4-cylinder that produces 174 hp and 171 lbs.-ft. of torque. Both the manual transmission and the automatic (available on most models) feature six speeds. Six airbags are also included.
Pros
- No sliding door
- Manual gearbox (rare for category)
- A decent vehicle
- Attractive "European wagon" silhouette
Cons
- Very little cargo space when all seats occupied
- No AWD
- One drivetrain only
- Some controls in weird places
