The Fiat 500 is a subcompact hatchback that relies on its Italian styling and tiny size to appeal to fashion-conscious fans of frugal driving. The Fiat 500 is ostensibly a four-seater, but does much better with two passengers inside its small cabin. Available in both coupe and convertible body styles, the base 500 is motivated by a 101 horsepower, 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that also generates 98 lb-ft of torque, and it features the choice between either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Also available in Abarth trim with 160 horsepower and very interesting performance characteristics. New for 2013 is the 500 Turbo with 135 horsepower.
