Capitalizing on the return of the Bronco nameplate, Ford decided to add a smaller, Escape-based variant called Bronco Sport. This one is not just about looks, mind you. Off-road capability is pretty decent, especially in Badlands or Heritage Limited trim. Two turbocharged engines are available including a 1.5-litre three-cylinder (181 horsepower) and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder (250 horsepower). Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and use a four-wheel drive system as standard.
Pros
- Sturdy, fashionable appearance
- Roomy and versatile interior
- Great off-road capabilities (especially Badlands trim)
Cons
- Base engine lacking refinement
- Non-reclining rear seat backs
- Assembly quality to improve
