The Cherokee will get a redesign for the 2019 model year, so very few changes were made to the SUV for 2018. Its front end is as distinctive as ever and its off-road capabilities are superior, especially in the Trailhawk version, easily identifiable thanks to its red-painted tow hooks. Regardless of the version, there are two engine choices: a 184-horsepower, 2.4L four cylinder and a 271-horsepower, 3.2L V6. The basic trim levels have a front-wheel drivetrain only.
Pros

- Flat floor for loading
- Impeccable Uconnect system
- Towing capacity
Cons
- Uninspiring base engine
- V6 engine short on torque
- Sub-standard reliability
- Not the most refined vehicle
- Needs to redefine its mission
