With the look of a small Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Compass can either be a quiet urban vehicle or a very competent off-roader. While the engine is the same in all versions of the Compass (180-horsepower, 2.4L four cylinder), there are three different gearboxes, depending on the version: six-speed manual, six-speed automatic or nine-speed automatic to go with one of either front-wheel, Active Drive or Active Drive Low (Trailhawk) drivetrains.
Pros
- Nice design (it's a matter of taste)
- Spacious cabin
- Efficient 4x4 system
- Manual transmission available with 4x4
Cons
- High price
- High fuel consumption
- Expectations are low for its reliability
- Disappointing accelerations
- Jeep lineup is saturated
