As a compact luxury sedan, the Lexus IS goes up against the likes of the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The current generation was introduced for 2021 and returns for 2023 with some new body colours and revised content. Engine selection includes a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder, a 3.5-litre V6 and a 5.0-litre V8. In fact, the top-line IS 500 is now the only car in this segment to offer an eight-cylinder option.
Pros
- V8 power and sound
- Proven reliability
- Friendly silhouette
Cons
- Touchpad that will make you hate the whole car
- Bump that bothers the driver in AWD versions
- Uninteresting IS 300 AWD version
