In order to create the GT, McLaren took the carbon fibre chassis of the 720S and stretched the wheelbase to offer more passenger and cargo space. There’s a 420-litre trunk in the rear and a 150-litre storage compartment up front. The twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, which is rated at 612 horsepower, is designed to save space and deliver more flexibility (95 percent of the torque is accessible from just 3,000 rpm). While developed as a grand touring supercar, comfort remains at a premium.
Pros
- Sports car handling
- Top-level performance
- More accommodating suspension
- Large trunk but…
Cons
- …its volume is tortured
- Sports car accessibility
- Outdated infotainment
- Comfort still limited for a GT
