With the Ram 1500 Classic being phased out, the Ram 1500 is now the only truck the brand has to offer. There’s still plenty of selection, mind you, from the base Tradesman at around $50,000 to the monstruous TRX at nearly $110,000. Engine options include a mild hybrid 3.6-litre V6 (305 horsepower), a mild hybrid 5.7-litre HEMI V8 (395 horsepower) and a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 (702 horsepower). Stellantis’ new twin-turbo six-cylinder engine a.k.a. “Hurricane” will replace the V8s for 2025.
Pros
- Above-average handling
- Interior presentation and layout
- V6 and V8 engines still efficient
- Good towing capacity
Cons
- Gargantuan Consumption (TRX)
- Significantly rising prices
- Reliability to prove (Hurricane engines)
- Uneven overall reliability
