No major changes to report for the 2012 Forester. The base model comes with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic. It’s powered by a 2.5L flat-4 that develops 170 hp. The XT, which only comes with an automatic transmission, adds a turbocharger that boosts output to 224 hp.
