If it didn’t bear the Toyota logo, it would be easy to think the Avalon was designed by an American automaker… for older Americans. Large dimensions, large interior, comfort, with very good soundproofing, very soft suspension, supple and powerful 3.5-litre V6 engine… this could easily be the Mercury Grand Marquis. The Avalon still comes as one version, the well-equipped XLS. And it deserves a better following.
